Can a woman getting a divorce get any of her husband's social security disability?

A friend of mine just started getting disability and he is going to court soon for a divorce. They have been married 5 years and seperated for the last 2. Is there any way she could get any of his check?Can a woman getting a divorce get any of her husband's social security disability?
No maam,the only people that can take your disability is the US government. IRS,Dept of Education(student loans) etc.Can a woman getting a divorce get any of her husband's social security disability?
That would be a real low life to go after someones disability checks.


But with today's laws who knows
In my state you must be married for 10 years in order for the other person to receive your Social Security.





If they have children and they have not given them away than the children definitely receives Social Security.
Depends on the state. But I think, for the most part, SS Disability is off limits. The person receives it in order to live from day to day.
