my husband didnt have social security number in 2007 and he didnt work. can i file my taxes ';married filling seperatly'; and then he wont have to file at all or do we have to file jointly?File jointly if husband didnt work and didnt have social security #?

yes you can file MFS, if he didnt work then he wont have to file.
As noted by Alicia, if he has a social security number now, you two can file jointly. If he doesn't have one and the Social Security Administration won't issue him one, he can get an idividual tax identification number (ITIN) from the IRS by filing Form W-7.
