He was recently deployed a month and I gave him a notebook to take with him where I wrote a note for every day he would be gone, telling him the things I love about him. For people in the military, what are some things you would like your spouse to do for you while you're gone that would make you feel better? And for other Navy spouses, what are some ideas you have? What are some nice things I can do for my husband while he is deployed?
What my husband always loves the most is when I hid notes in his uniform. I hide one small note in a pocket of his ABU's. He never knows which pocket. Everyday that he puts on a fresh pair (he generally takes 10 pairs) he hunts for the note. The note is always different but the overall message is always the same. I love you and I miss you. I'll write things like ';Remember those 3 nights in Paris?'; or ';Life is never the same when you aren't around';. He LOVES that. I then send additional notes while he's gone. They are special to him and take up almost no space at all. What are some nice things I can do for my husband while he is deployed?
I would ask him what does he need or want from the States. Like candy bars; special items that maybe they can't get where he is. Also I would send him a video of you and if you have children; the kids saying hello and how much you miss him. Also, just take care of the important things like paying the bills; the house and lawn; and the kids and that is all he would want from you, but the most important thing is that he knows you love him and will be waiting for him when he returns.
